The 240 MW “Khizi-Absheron” Wind Power Plant (WPP) in Azerbaijan, being built by Saudi Arabia’s ACWA Power company, will have its Absheron (Gobustan) part put into operation in August this year, said Selim Guven, ACWA Power's director for Azerbaijan and Türkiye, during his speech at the 30th Anniversary “Baku Energy Forum” held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.
According to him, the entire project is expected to be launched by the end of this year.
“This project has two parts. One is 80 megawatts, and the other is 160 megawatts in capacity. We will present them in stages in groups of 80 megawatts. The first 80-megawatt group will be commissioned in August,” Selim Güven said.
He added that the next stages will be carried out in September and October, and the entire project will be completed by the end of the year.
