“The Government of Pakistan expresses gratitude for the support shown by Azerbaijan in efforts to expand domestic gas production,” Ali Pervaiz Malik, Minister for Petroleum of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, said during his speech at the Baku Energy Forum, APA-Economics.
According to the minister, Pakistan is pursuing an “indigenization” policy to reduce foreign dependence and use domestic gas resources more efficiently. In this framework, support is being sought from international partners: “We are trying to promote the development of local gas resources, and in this process, we are grateful to the Government of Azerbaijan and other friendly countries. They are helping us in this direction,” the minister emphasized.
The minister also noted that Pakistan’s goal is to ensure sustainability in the gas sector, increase the use of local resources, and strengthen energy security by implementing structural reforms.
