In January-July of the current year, the total value of production in Azerbaijan's mining industry amounted to AZN 27,339.5 million, which is a decrease of 0.2% compared to the same period of the previous year, APA-Economics reports citing the monthly report of the State Statistical Committee.
The report indicates that of the total figure, AZN 25,267.9 million came from the extraction of crude oil and natural gas, representing a 0.3% decrease year-on-year.
The report further states that the main product of the sector, commercial oil production, reached 19,263 million tons, while commercial natural gas production amounted to 25,122.8 billion cubic meters.
"Commercial oil production decreased by 4.4% compared to the same period of the previous year, while commercial gas production increased by 4.1%," the report notes.
It also mentions that during the reporting period, Azerbaijan produced a total of 19,304.1 thousand tons of oil (a 4.6% decrease) and 33,030.4 million cubic meters of gas (a 2.6% increase).
