Masdar plans to start construction of a 240 MW wind power plant in Azerbaijan by the end of this year, Maryam Rashed Al Mazrouei, Head of Business Development and Investment for the CIS region at Masdar, said at the 30th anniversary "Baku Energy Forum" held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.
“The 240-megawatt wind power plant project is currently at an advanced stage of development. We hope to begin construction work by the end of this year,” Al Mazrouei said.
She added that Masdar's solar energy projects in Azerbaijan are currently under construction and are scheduled to start generation (production) next year.
“Azerbaijan is one of the strategic markets for Masdar. There are a number of initiatives in Azerbaijan and the region aimed at exporting green electricity to neighboring countries and Europe. We fully support these initiatives. At the same time, we are ready to prepare and implement renewable energy projects for green energy export,” said the Masdar representative.
