"Azerbaijan is applying artificial intelligence-based technologies to reduce methane emissions through the Caspian AI Energy Transition Institute," said Anton Kosach, Executive Director of Boston Consulting Group (BCG), during his speech at the Baku Energy Forum, APA-Economics reports.
He noted that the Methane AI system implemented by SOCAR enables holistic management of methane leaks in the industry.
In addition, it was reported that the institute is developing new molecules to increase CO2 absorption, and these technologies are being prepared for application in carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects.
"Azerbaijan is already using the capabilities of artificial intelligence in its climate strategies. This is an exemplary approach not only for the region but for the entire world," Kosach added.
Kosach also stated that the transition period from COP29 to COP30 is a phase in which Azerbaijan is turning its ambitions into concrete action plans.
