A prevention program for a sharp decline in production in the "Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli" (ACG) oil and gas field block located in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea can be developed until the end of the current year, said Bakhtiyar Aslanbayli, Vice President of Caspian Region at bp, the operator of ACG in his statements to journalists, APA-Economics reports.

According to him, the issue of slowing down and stabilizing the rate of decline in production in the ACG has been a subject of discussion for a long time now.

“These discussions are not new. The discussions have been going on for a long time,” Bakhtiyar Aslanbayli noted.

The vice-president added that the decline in the production in the ACG was expected, but this process has been higher than expected.

“In general, most likely, within 2024, those discussions will reach a certain conclusions and a certain program will be prepared to prevent a sharp decline in production,” Bakhtiyar Aslanbayli emphasized.
