A new gas compressor unit is planned to be installed on the "Central Azeri" platform located in the "Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli" (ACG) fields, Gordon Birrell, BP’s Executive Vice President for Production and Operations, told journalists, APA-Economics reports.
According to him, this project will be implemented as part of measures aimed at slowing down and stabilizing the decline in oil production at ACG.
It was noted that the new unit will allow for an increase in the volume of gas injected into the reservoirs.
Gordon Birrell emphasized that several measures are being taken to slow the decline in production at ACG. Among these measures is the injection of more water and gas into the reservoirs to increase pressure.
