Digitalization and smart technologies are revolutionizing production and safety, BP Vice President for Georgia Ayten Hajiyeva-Agalarova said during her speech at the Baku Energy Forum, APA-Economics reports.
She noted that digital twins, drones and satellite technology are already being used in operations: “The company is monitoring areas along pipelines in Türkiye using satellite technology. In addition, the Azeri Central East Platform was noted as one of BP’s most advanced projects. This is our most modern platform. Digital twin technology is applied here, automation is at a high level. The topside of the platform is fully digitalized, and along with safety, digital support has been brought to the maximum level.”
She added that the company is also already using drone technology – in particular, to monitor tanks and increase safety: “Thanks to drones, we are reducing the number of human resources and increasing the level of safety.”
