"The increase in processing depth at the Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery has affected the transshipment of diesel from Azerbaijan at SOCAR’s Kulevi terminal located in Georgia," said the terminal’s General Director, Ilgar Alizade during the Caspian and Central Asia Oil Trading and Logistics Forum organized by GLENMAR Group, APA reports.
He noted that due to the ongoing modernization at the refinery, diesel that was previously exported with relatively lower quality is now undergoing deeper processing.
Ilgar Alizade stated that the Euro-5 diesel produced at the refinery is now directed to Azerbaijan’s domestic market and to Georgia.
“Today, exports from Azerbaijan are slightly lower than they were 1.5 to 2 years ago,” Ilgar Alizade added.
