Last year and in 8 months of this year, 41 million tons of oil and 37 billion cubic meters of gas were supplied to Türkiye and world markets through these pipelines, the Ministry of Energy, the Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov stated this during his speech at the fourth meeting of energy ministers of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) held in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, APA-Economics reports.
Evaluating cooperation in the field of energy as a strategic pillar of the relations between the Turkish states, he underlined that in addition to BTC, the great contributions of Azerbaijan-Türkiye energy union such as Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum, TANAP, Southern Gas Corridor ensure the energy security of many countries along with Türkiye. Last year and in 8 months of this year, 41 million tons of oil and 37 billion cubic meters of gas were supplied to Türkiye and world markets through these pipelines. This year, 9.8 billion cubic meters of our expected 25 billion gas exports will be delivered to Türkiye, and 12.5 billion cubic meters to Europe.
The minister said that the agreement on the transportation of 2 million tons of Kazakh oil through Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and the gradual increase of these volumes is a proof of Azerbaijan's unifying role between Central Asia, Türkiye and Europe.
Reported that Azerbaijan's trade turnover with member and observer countries of the Organization of Turkic States exceeded 9 billion dollars last year, these countries invested 18.2 billion dollars in our economy, and Azerbaijan invested 20.3 billion dollars in these countries.
