Within the framework of the “Baku Energy Week”, in the context of the development of comprehensive strategic partnership relations between Azerbaijan and China, an Agreement on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in the Energy Sector was signed between the Ministry of Energy and the “China Energy Engineering Corporation Limited” company. The document was signed by the Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov and the company’s Vice President Bo Wang, the Ministry of Energy informed APA-Economics.
According to the information, the agreement ensures the legal framework of the agreements reached as a result of the meeting of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, with the Chairman of the “China Energy Engineering Corporation Limited” company within the framework of the state visit to China.
The aim is to expand cooperation in the direction of the development of clean energy and modern energy systems in Azerbaijan and to implement specific projects in this field. According to the document, cooperation will be carried out with the “China Energy Engineering Corporation Limited” company on the projects of the 160 MW Fuzuli Solar Power Plant, 200 MW wind energy in the Caspian Sea, hydropower and the “Green Energy Corridor”. The agreement also includes cooperation in energy planning and network research, the establishment of a Research Center for the development of the use of green energy, and the training of qualified personnel in the field of renewable energy.
