"Achieving the goal of net zero in international aviation by 2050 is planned," Farid Huseynov, head of internal and external communications department of Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) said at a panel session titled "Sustainable solutions in transport infrastructure in the media" within the framework of the II Forum on "Social processes in the Media Landscape", organized by MEDIA, APA reports.
He said that AZAL has made commitments in this regard.
The department head also touched upon process of renewing AZAL's fleet.
According Farid Huseynov, AZAL is preparing to add more than 20 aircraft to its fleet by 2036 to renew its fleet.
He also noted that they are trying to inform the public in advance on delays in the aviation.
Farid Huseynov drew attention to the fact that air transport is one of the most important areas of public interest: "A lot of work is being done at AZAL to improve the level of service. In the last 3 years, AZAL has achieved great results in terms of operations and passenger turnover."
