CEC Chairman announces number of voters in Azerbaijan

"The finalization of the voter lists across Azerbaijan has been completed," Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC), Mazahir Panahov, said at a CEC meeting, APA reports.

The CEC Chairman said that there are 6,302,093 voters in the country.

Note that, according to the requirements of the Election Code, every year, precinct election commissions must submit the voter lists prepared for their precincts to the relevant district election commissions no later than February 5.

The district election commissions must then submit the preliminary voter lists for their respective election districts to the Central Election Commission by April 5. The Central Election Commission, in turn, is responsible for compiling a unified voter list for the entire country.

This process must be completed by the end of May at the latest, and the newly compiled unified voter list for the country must be published on the official website of the Central Election Commission.
