According to information of the State Commission as of August 1, 2024, a total of 3,968 people have been registered as missing as a result of the military aggression of Armenia against Azerbaijan. Of these, 3,962 went missing during the First Garabagh War, and 6 went missing during the Patriotic War, this was reflected in the article published in AZERTAC by Gazanfar Ahmadov, secretary of Azerbaijan's State Commission for Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons, head of the Working Group, APA reports.
It was noted that out of the 3,968 missing persons, 3,202 are military personnel, and 766 are civilians. Among the civilians, 69 are minors, 283 are women, and 334 are elderly people.
Of those missing during the First Garabagh War, 872 people, including 29 children, 98 women, and 112 elderly people, were taken prisoner or held hostage.
