With the initiative and support of the National Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan for UNESCO, and based on a corresponding decision by the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, the 100th anniversary of the death of prominent ashig Alasgar has been included in UNESCO’s 2026–2027 commemorative events program, Secretary-General of Azerbaijan’s National Commission for UNESCO, Seymur Fataliyev, announced the news during a conference titled "Ancient texts and classical sources expose Armenian falsifications and fabrications, or ethno-geographic plots and provocations about Azerbaijani territories", APA reports.
Fataliyev noted that the issue was discussed and approved during 221st session of the UNESCO Executive Board held in April, calling it one of the major achievements.
