"These actions on agreements within the framework of COP29 are very important. We must not spare our efforts," said UN Deputy Secretary General Amina Mohammed at the Preliminary Conference of the Parties on Climate Change (Pre-COP29) held in Baku, APA reports.
She underlined that we should not allow the temperature to increase by more than 1.5 degrees: "We are moving in the right direction. With the signing of the Paris Agreement, we agreed to 4 degrees, but last year in Dubai we agreed to 1.5 degrees. We think that COP29 should express the reconciliation of claims and reveal concrete results. We must ensure fairness at COP29 in November so that no country is left behind. The UN is ready for all kinds of support."
