The International event titled "Paperless Government: The Impact of Digitalization and Innovation on the Environment" was organized by the Innovation and Digital Development Agency (IDDA) under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport and the UN Representative Office in Azerbaijan, APA-Economics reports.
The event was held within the framework of the series of events under the "29 Climate Conversations: Road to COP29" program.
Among the speakers were Samir Mammadov, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport; Inara Valiyeva, Chairperson of the Innovation and Digital Development Agency; and Vladanka Andreeva, UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan.
During the event, Vincenzo Aquaro, Director of the Digital Government Division at the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), gave an extensive presentation on "Digitalization Methodology and Climate Change." Following this, panel sessions were held on the topics "International Experience in Paperless Government: Environmental Impacts of Digital Government Products" and "Governance in the Digital Age: Technological Development and Citizen Engagement." These sessions featured detailed discussions with leading representatives from various organizations as well as local and international experts on digital government.
Note that the main goal of the event was to promote collaboration and dialogue among various sectors to combat the global climate crisis. The event showcased successful practices and strategies from different parts of the world, addressing points where digital transformation intersects with environmental sustainability. Through collaborative discussions and knowledge exchange, participants explored extensive insights into implementing effective digital strategies that support both ecological and social well-being.
