"COP29 and Culture: The Cultural Dimensions of Climate Change" Conference was held at ADA University, the Ministry of Culture told APA.
The purpose of the conference is to investigate the interaction between culture and climate change and to draw attention to the effects of cultural practices and traditions on environmental changes.
At the conference held under the moderation of Nargiz Ismayilova, the Head of Specialisation Programs at the Institute of Development and Diplomacy at ADA University, Deputy Minister of Culture Farid Jafarov stated that Azerbaijan is committed to the environmental agenda at both national and international levels.
It was emphasized that climate finance is the main topic of COP29. Within the framework of COP29, intensive negotiations are being conducted with various countries, organizations, academic circles, and non-governmental organizations to reach an agreement on climate finance, which is on the global climate agenda, and to strengthen global solidarity on climate change. Efforts are being made to identify possible solutions for the successful outcomes of COP29.
Other speakers shared their thoughts on strategies for integrating cultural perspectives into climate action.
