On October 7, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov participated in and delivered a speech at the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) within his working visit to the Russian Federation, the Ministry told APA.
In his speech, he shared Azerbaijan's perspective on cooperation within the CIS framework in areas such as the economy, trade, transport and communications, artificial intelligence, humanitarian issues, youth, and others. He also provided information about the country's Presidency of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29).
The Russian Federation was thanked for the successful organization of the Council of Foreign Ministers, and best wishes were extended to the Republic of Tajikistan, which will chair the CIS next year.
Providing detailed information about Azerbaijan's COP29 Presidency, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov highlighted that extensive efforts are being undertaken in the leadership role, including the negotiation process and preparatory work, with the aim of making a significant contribution to global climate action.
