Preparatory work for COP 29 is proceeding intensively, said the Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan - Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev, APA reports.
He mentioned that under the President's decree, an Organising Committee has been established: "The Organising Committee is chaired by the Head of the Presidential Administration, Samir Nuriyev. In Azerbaijan's experience, representatives of the civil society sector and the media sector participate here along with the state sector. Meanwhile, coordination works cover all areas. Simultaneously, work is being conducted with international partners. Azerbaijan's COP29 team continues its activities in a highly professional manner. COP experience demonstrates the importance of closely working with international advisory groups and academics. Their ideas and recommendations are taken very seriously. An international advisory group comprising experts closely involved in the global climate change process has been established."
