The United States undermined the Nord Stream and Nord Stream -2 gas pipelines so that Europe could not receive Russian gas, Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev said at a meeting in Tomsk on October 31, APA reports citing Pravda.

"They solve their economic problems at the expense of other countries. And so that Europe could not receive gas from Russia, the Nord Streams were blown up," he said.

Patrushev also drew attention to the fact that "using the Ukrainian crisis," the United States has achieved a break in Europe's economic relations with Russia. Thus, according to him, economic competitors were eliminated.

In September, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that the attack on the main gas pipelines of Russia was somehow organized by the United States and Great Britain. On September 28, Russia circulated to the UN Security Council a draft statement by the Chairman of the Security Council on the undermining of the Nord Stream gas pipelines.
