Moscow calls on London and Washington to influence Kyiv to stop the escalation, said Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergey Ryabkov, APA's Moscow correspondent reports.
According to him, the lack of response gives grounds to say that, in the worst-case scenario, the West may be a participant in preparing provocations.
Ryabkov noted that Russia has shown maximum restraint after Kyiv’s attacks on railways and airfields.
The Deputy Minister stated that the decision on how to respond to Ukraine’s attacks falls under the authority of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
“Russia demands a clear response from the United States and the United Kingdom to prevent further escalation due to Ukraine’s attacks on the strategic aviation of the Russian Federation.
Kyiv’s actions are aimed at escalation; together with Europe, they are doing everything to undermine a peaceful settlement.”
Ryabkov emphasized that Russia is making maximum efforts to normalize relations with the U.S.: “A dialogue will be established and continued. There are not many points of convergence with Washington, and it is important to turn them into practical steps.”
