Russia is ready to provide all necessary support to ensure Armenia’s defense, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said during an expanded meeting with his Armenian counterpart in Yerevan, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.
He emphasized that Russia values its allied relations with Armenia and the deep ties between the two nations: “Extensive groundwork has already been laid in all areas of relations between our states, and we must use it wisely and effectively. As before, we consider the security field one of the key dimensions of our alliance. We are ready to assist Armenia in every possible way to ensure its defense, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.”
Lavrov also noted that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the agreement on the deployment of the Russian military base in Armenia, as well as the 10th anniversary of the opening of the Russia-Armenia Humanitarian Center. He added that Russian border guards continue joint service with Armenian counterparts at the Armenia-Turkiye and Armenia-Iran borders.
