"Efforts of those who drafted the relevant documents to achieve peace and stability in the South Caucasus region must be respected," Spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova said in response to recent comments by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who distorted the provisions of the November 10, 2020 trilateral statement, APA's Moscow correspondent reports.
Zakharova called on Pashinyan to respect those who "fought for peace in the South Caucasus at the cost of their lives," adding: "Documents are not implemented by a magic wand but by the people who contribute to them. For these writings to become reality, people sacrifice not only their time but sometimes their lives. Therefore, I believe that one should not approach these documents lightly or irresponsibly when quoting from them."
She also stressed that respecting the efforts of those who drafted the provisions of the relevant documents is essential to achieving peace and stability in the region. "What matters most is that responsible politicians should not treat documents, prepared as a result of complex historical processes, with irresponsibility," the Russian Ministry Spokesperson emphasized.
