The number of civilians in the Belgorod Region who were injured in shelling by the Ukrainian Armed Forces has reached 19, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said, APA reports citing TASS.
Earlier, 17 injuries were reported.
"According to preliminary data, an attack in the city on a construction site occurred. There are two victims - one man received shrapnel wounds to the right forearm, the second - multiple shrapnel wounds to his lower extremities," the governor said on his Telegram channel. According to him, the ambulance crew took the victims to hospital No. 2 in Belgorod, where all the necessary medical assistance is being provided.
The air defense system over Belgorod and the Belgorod district was busy during the day, shooting down 11 air targets, Gladkov reported.
"For the third time in a day our air defense system worked over Belgorod and Belgorod district, shooting down 11 air targets on the approach to the city. Emergency response services are clarifying information about the consequences on the ground," Gladkov wrote.
