Ramazan Abdulatipov, member of Coordination Council of Azerbaijani Organizations’ Union in Russia, to be acting president of Dagestan

Moscow. Farid Akberov – APA. Ramazan Abdulatipov, deputy of Russia’s State Duma and member of the Union of Azerbaijani Organizations in Russia, will be an acting president of Dagestan, Ramazan Abdulatipov told “Kavkazpolitka”, APA Moscow correspondent reports.

Abdulatipov said he met with Putin several times this year. According to him, the Russian President is interested in stabilizing the situation in Dagestan: “Putin said he hopes I will use my experience as a statesman. Today, the main issue in the region is to regain the people’s trust in the state. For this purpose, I will do my best.”

Ramazan Abdulatipov is Avar. He worked as Russian ambassador to Tajikistan and Minister of National Policy. Moreover, he was elected as deputy of the Russian State Duma four times.

The Moscow Kremlin has not issued a statement on it yet. There is no order on resignation of Dagestan president Magomedsalam Magomedov.
