Moscow has always spoken openly about the activity of the EU Mission in Armenia (EUMA), Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said at a briefing held today, APA's Moscow correspondent reports.
"We have repeatedly emphasized the confrontational nature of the EU's quasi-military presence in Armenia. There is no need to search for evidence - the mission's goals are anti-Russian, anti-Azerbaijani, and anti-Iranian, especially as NATO countries begin to join it. Such initiatives can only lead to destabilization in the region and turn it into another geopolitical battleground," said the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson.
