"The United States has proposed a pause in bilateral contacts aimed at normalizing dialogue with Russia," said Aide to the President of Russia Yury Ushakov, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.
According to Ushakov, an agreement on a future meeting with the American side is expected.
He also noted that U.S. business representatives are expected to attend the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
Speaking about President Vladimir Putin’s upcoming international engagements, Ushakov said that Putin is scheduled to hold a phone call with Chinese leader Xi Jinping in the coming days to discuss the situation in the Middle East.
Referring to Putin’s recent phone conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Ushakov emphasized that Russia and Türkiye have intensified contacts via their defense and foreign ministries regarding the Iran-Israel conflict.
