One should not expect sudden decisions and breakthroughs from the talks in Istanbul, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said while commenting on the outcome of the negotiations held on June 2 in Istanbul between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports

According to him, important agreements were reached in Istanbul, and they will be implemented.

Peskov said that a meeting between Putin, Trump, and Zelenskyy is unlikely to take place in the near future, and such contacts should be the result of technical agreements: "President Putin has repeatedly emphasized that he is ready for contacts at the highest level and has noted that these contacts should be the result of agreements prepared at the technical and expert levels. President Putin supports the idea of contacts but believes that they must be well prepared."

The Kremlin spokesperson spoke about a draft memorandum from the Russian Federation. He noted that the memorandum aims to eliminate the root causes of the conflict in Ukraine and to achieve a lasting settlement.
