"The Kremlin does not dramatize the postponement of consultations between Russia and the US to resolve provocative issues in bilateral relations," said Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.
He stated that although no clear explanation was given for the delay, there could be many reasons: “We see nothing strange or alarming in this.”
Kremlin spokesperson expressed hope that new dates for the talks would be agreed upon soon, as dialogue remains necessary.
Peskov also spoke about the G7 format. He noted that this format has long ceased to interest Russia and is losing influence on the global stage.
“G7 has long stopped being an interesting and popular format for us. The role of alternative alliances in the global economy—such as BRICS and the G20—is growing, and the G7 format is no longer viable. Because global trends show that the G7 countries' share in the global economy is inevitably shrinking. This is not some kind of seasonal volatility, but rather a formed and ongoing trend we are observing,” the Kremlin spokesperson emphasized.
