Russia is ready to return to the 'Istanbul principles' on the settlement of the conflict with Ukraine, but based on new realities, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in an interview with the Russian media, APA reports.

According to Lavrov, these principles involve Ukraine not joining NATO, maintaining a non-aligned status, and ensuring its security in a way that makes it feel comfortable: “These principles remain in force. At least we are ready to return to these principles, but of course, taking into account new realities... Since two and a half years have passed since then. These realities have also been explained by President Vladimir Putin, who has outlined the path to settlement between Ukraine, Russia, and the West.”
