Armenia's external debt reaches $13.6 bln, while domestic debt increases by 50%

As of the end of March 2025, Armenia's state debt has increased by 4.4% compared to the end of 2024, reaching 5 trillion 318 billion drams (approximately USD 13.6 billion ), the country’s finance minister, Vahe Ovannisyan said, APA reports citing Sputnik-Armenia.

The Armenian minister also added that by the end of 2024, this figure would be USD 12.8 billion. Compared to the corresponding period in 2023, the volume of external debt has increased by 6.2%.

He emphasized that the amount of domestic debt has also increased and has reached 50% of the country's gross domestic product (GDP).
