From January 1, 2025, the service along the Armenia-Iran and Armenia-Türkiye border lines will be jointly organized by the Border Service of the Federal Security Service of Russia and the military of the National Security Service of Armenia, Press Secretary of the Prime Minister of Armenia Nazeli Bagdasaryan said, APA reports citing Armenian media.
According to him, the agreement was reached between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Moscow.
It was also stated that Armenian border guards will stand guard directly at the checkpoint located in the border region between Armenia and Iran.
