Police in Armenia have begun conducting searches and making arrests at regional offices of the opposition party Dashnaktsutyun, APA reports, citing news.am.
The political organization reported that the authorities' actions have triggered a firm response from the party regarding the ongoing measures.
The Zhoghovurd newspaper wrote that a group of party activists is preparing to hold a protest at the airport against Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan upon his return from a visit to Türkiye.
It has also been noted that more arrests are expected in the coming hours.
In response to the events, Armenia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs stated that it had received information about possible actions aimed at disrupting public order: “Subsequently, as part of the police's duty operations, preventive discussions were held with a group of individuals. We call on all citizens to follow public order. Any unlawful action will be met with a firm response.”
