OSCE top observer in Azerbaijan meets with former presidential candidates

Baku. Elnur Mammadli–APA. Head of the OSCE mission observed presidential elections in Azerbaijan Ambassador Boris Frlec met with former candidates Gudrat Hasanguliyev, Fazil Gazanfaroglu and Igbal Agazadeh. Hasanguliyev told APA they had discussed the results of the presidential elections, voting and accounting processes. The OSCE representative took interest in the post-election activity of the opposition parties participated in the elections. “I asked the ambassador why he considered Musavat, but not the opposition parties participated in the elections, as the main opposition’s party. I told him that second man of Ali Karimli’s Party joined the elections and asked why they said that main opposition parties had not joined the elections. He could not bring any serious argument to respond my questions”. Hasanguliyev said they would try to change the Electoral Code in the next phase.
Umid Party’s Chairman Igbal Agazadeh told APA they had discussed the election results and OSCE pre-election report. Frlec was interested in Umid Party’s future activity and form of its participation in the elections. They discussed opinions of separate parts of the society about the elections and then Agazadeh expressed his opinion about the OSCE report. “I consider that OSCE had objective opinion. The OSCE, PACE and EU opinions generally reflected the reality of Azerbaijani voters”.

Chairman of Great System Party Fazil Gazanfaroglu told APA that he had discussed with the OSCE top observer the preliminary opinion of his organization on the presidential elections. “We discussed the general rules, some problems emerged in the voting process and further measures”.
