CEC chairman: Six-hour free air time will be allocated to the candidates in a week

Elnur Mammadli – APA. “Central Election Commission will keep election campaign of the presidential candidates under control in order to prevent violations of law,” chairman of Central Election Commission Mazahir Panahov said, APA reports. CEC chairman said that all measures had been taken in connection with the election campaign.

Panahov said only Public Television and Radio Broadcasting Company (ITV) allocated free air time to the candidates and added that according to the law, air time not less than 3 hours should be allocated a week. According to the agreement reached by CEC and ITV, six-hour free air time will be allocated to the candidates in a week.

Other media outlets will offer paid air time. Mazahir Panahov said some local NGOs had appealed to CEC to hold exit polls.
