The burial ceremony was attended by acting chief of the Emotional & Psychological Training and Public Relations Department of the Defense Ministry, Major General V. Mammadov, officers of the soldier’s military unit and military compound, head of Aghstafa Region Executive Authority and local residents.
On December 27, Armenians fired on our positions from their posts near the occupied Chayli village of Terter region. 18-year-old soldier of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces Sarkhan Gasimov Vagif, drafted from January 5, 2013 from Aghstafa region, was killed as an Armenian sniper violated ceasefire.
Under the order of Defense Minister, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, the 3rd class medal “For distinguished military service” has been conferred on soldier Sarkhan Gasimov Vagif.
