Italian company to complete delivery of helicopters to Azerbaijan next year

At present, the company is carrying out the production and delivery of AW-139 helicopters. According to the agreement, Azerbaijan will purchase 8 AW-139 helicopters and 2 AW-189.

“These helicopters are mainly used for offshore transportations, emergency medical services, search and rescue operations and VIP services,” the company said.

According to the company representatives, the helicopters can operate in all weather conditions. The helicopters designed for search and rescue (SAR) missions have been equipped with night vision systems and FLIR cameras.

Company representatives said that the post-Soviet region is considered a new and prospective market for them. They have not confirmed nor refused the discussions held with the Azerbaijani side on sale of various search-rescue and military helicopters.
