Baku. Rashad Suleymanov – APA. Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) will complete the first phase of the project on carrying out mine and UXO clearance operations in Jeyranchol area in June, ANAMA expert Parviz Gidayev told APA.
Gidayev said that NATO has already given its consent to second phase of Jeyranchol Clearing Project, it will start in July and last for two years.
The second phase envisages mine and UXO clearance operations in 23.585.000 square meter area.
In the first phase, it is planned to carry out clearance operations in 19 mln square meter area.
The former Soviet army's shooting range was based on the Azerbaijan-Georgia border in Jeyranchol.
There are a lot of mines and UXOs in the area.
