Azerbaijani sappers to conduct mine-clearing operations in tunnel exploded by Russians during Russia-Georgia war - <span style="color: red;">EXCLUSIVE

According to him, during the war in Georgia, 2008, a mountain tunnel was exploded by Russians and a number of ammunitions scattered around the area.

Another project aims at supporting the creation of national mine-clearing potential and assessing the relevant activities.

“Therein, Georgia has appealed to NATO. In its turn, NATO asks us to support these projects,” stressed the ANAMA Director.

Nazim Ismayilov said that 6-member Georgian delegation will visit Azerbaijan to take training.

In 2011, ANAMA won the tender launched by the NATO Maintenance and Supply Agency with the view of establishing mine detecting unit of the Georgian Defense Ministry. In this regard, 60 sappers were trained for the Georgian Defense Ministry at the ANAMA International Training Centre.
