The Azerbaijani Parliament told APA that the related proposals were included in the redeveloped draft law on “Armed forces and other armed units”.
The draft law will also embrace the issues on the troop types, which are under the other structures alongside with the Ministry of Defense.
The new proposals consider replacing current Interior troops by a new Gendarmerie structure and improving new system or establishing a new unit alongside with the Interior Troops. At the same time, the draft law allows establishing additional armed units in the future. The draft law can be implemented after the decision of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief.
The draft law also enables establishing additional armed units in the future. After the law is adopted, the realization of the issue will depend on the decision of President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief.
The draft law has been submitted to the relevant bodies for getting opinion, all bodies except the Defense Ministry have already given opinion.
The bill is not discussed due to the delay of the Defense Ministry’s opinion.
The Defense Ministry will likely give an opinion and the law will be discussed at the parliament.
