Ministry of National Security exchanged information with partner countries over threats to Azerbaijani diplomatic missions

The report says that operations and exchange of information were held with the special services of the partner countries regarding the security of our foreign embassies and missions due to threatening statements issued by the Armenian terrorist organizations after extradition and release of officer of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces Ramil Safarov sentenced to life imprisonment in Hungary.


As a result of the regular talks conducted by the State Committee for Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons with the international organizations, one Azerbaijani citizen taken hostage by Armenian servicemen was released with the mediation of ICRC. 3 Armenian citizens detained while crossing to the territory of Azerbaijan were sent to the third country under the auspices of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) as they refused to return to their own country.


The facts that 20 persons went missing in battles were revealed during the investigation and registered at the State Commission, fate of 38 missing persons was clarified and their names were removed from the list. Totally, as of December 1, 2012, 4031 persons went missing and 1402 persons were registered at the State Commission as persons released from captivity.
