Baku. Mubariz Aslanov – APA. Those, who participated in the peacekeeping operations abroad, are expected to be granted with a special status. The Azerbaijani Parliament told APA that the relevant amendments can be made to the law “On Azerbaijan’s participation in peacekeeping operations”.

It aims to determine the assessment of soldiers and officers serving abroad in the international security system. The draft law will also determine the criteria on assessment of officers’ services and level of their services.

At the same time, those, who were killed in peacekeeping operations, are expected to be granted with a special status. The proposals also include granting the status of “National Hero” to the Azerbaijani servicemen for heroism in protection of international security.

Moreover, the draft law will also cover the issues on giving special obligations to the officers, who finished their services in peacekeeping forces, and provision of housing and the other allowances.

The draft law is expected to be submitted for discussion at the Azerbaijani Parliament this year.
