Armenian armed forces violated ceasefire 154 times in February, two Azerbaijani servicemen killed

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov – APA. Armenian armed forces violated ceasefire 154 times on frontline in February, 2013. According to the results of the APA’s monitoring based on the reports confirmed by Azerbaijani Defense Ministry, two Azerbaijani servicemen were killed as a result of the ceasefire violation.


An analysis of the monitoring data shows that violations of ceasefire in February, 2013 increased by 3-4 times compared with the same period of previous years. Armenian armed forces violated ceasefire 64 times in February, 2012 and 56 times in February, 2011.


The ceasefire was violated mostly in the direction of Aghdam region (56 times). Fuzuli region is in the second place with 33 ceasefire violations.


The ceasefire regime was violated 18 times in the direction of Goranboy region, 12 – in Khojavand, 10 – in Tartar, 5 – in Jabrayil and once in Goygol. The ceasefire regime was violated 7 times in the direction of Gazakh region, 6 – in Tovuz, 5 – in Gadabay and once in Dashkasan on Armenia-Azerbaijan border.


Armenian armed forces seemed to be more active on the state border, subversive actions were especially recorded in the directions of Albeyli and Mulkulu villages of Tovuz region in the first ten-day and end of February. As a result of the measures taken by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces snipers more than 10 Armenian servicemen were killed and injured.


Armenian Armed Forces also became active in the direction of Tapgaragoyunlu village of Goranboy on the Karabakh frontline in the last ten-day of February. Fights happened every day from February 20 to 28 in the aforementioned direction.


Armenian armed forces violated ceasefire 127 times on frontline in January, 2013.
