ANAMA clears 1 231 882 sq.m territory of Azerbaijan from mine and UXO last year

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov–APA. Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) cleared 1 231 882 sq.m territory of Azerbaijan from mine and unexploded ordnance (UXO) last year, Press Service of ANAMA told APA.
9 225 unexploded ordnance were found and neutralized. 339 workers, 5 mine clearance flail machines and 30 mine seeking dogs have been used.
ANAMA has cleared 73 210 669 sq.m territory by now and 328 656 mines and unexploded ordnance have been found and neutralized. ANAMA has conducted clearing operation in Terter, Aghdam, Fuzuli, Goranboy, Khojavand, Agstafa and Garadagh region of Baku.
Mine and UXO were not found during August. According to statistics quoting various sources from September, 2001, 101 mines killed 57 and injured 137.
