Emergencies Minister: Logistics of Azerbaijani Civil Defense Troops is improving

The logistics of Azerbaijani Civil Defense Troops is improving, Emergencies Minister Kamaladdin Heydarov said, APA reports.
Civil Defense Troops are supplied with modern equipment. Bilajari corps of the troops, soldiersâ€™ quarters, administrative buildings and headquarters are conformed to modern standards.
â€œDining-room and quarters are being built in the military unit of troops in Zigh settlement. Civil Defense Troops and State Firefighting Service will be equipped with necessary units and supplies,â€ the Minister said.
Mr. Heydarov underlined that cooperation in the sphere of Civil Defense successfully continues according to Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP) between Azerbaijani government and NATO.
â€œAfter Civil Defense Troops were subordinated to the Emergencies Ministry, the implementation of the program with NATO is carried out by the ministry. The cooperation is still on initial phase and continues successfully. We had several meetings with NATO Emergencies Committee. We consider that cooperation with NATO in emergency cases and civil defense system favors Azerbaijan,â€ the Minister said.
Emergencies Ministry was set up in December, 2005. Before, Civil Defense Troops had been subordinated to Defense Ministry. /APA/
