Rescuers of Azerbaijani MES attend in NATO drills in Georgia

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov – APA. The rescuers of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Emergency Situations attended the NATO “Georgia-2012” trainings. APA reports quoting the website of the Ministry that the trainings, which was organized by the NATO Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Centre (EADRCC) and Management of Emergency Situations Department of the Georgian Ministry of Emergency Situations, aims to form joint and useful activity during the emergency situations between NATO member states. The drills will continue through September 28.

The scenario of the “Georgia-2012” trainings is to evaluate casualties of the 6.8-magnitude quake occurred in Kvemo Kartli region on 35 km from Tbilisi.

Personnel of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Emergency Situations consisting of 60 people will carry out operations on search and rescue, chemical, biological, radiological and medical service.

Besides Azerbaijan, teams from NATO member-states, representatives of the UN, the European Union and the other international organizations are participating the training.
