Detachment commander that beat a soldier in Azerbaijan arrested

The press service of the organization told APA that the investigation of criminal case on the soldier of Nakchivan military unit #N under the Defense Ministry Ismayil Ibayevâ€™s death is being continued in the Republican Military Prosecutorâ€™s Office of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

On July 31, 2012, the Republican Military Prosecutorâ€™s Office of Nakhchivan Autonomous launched a criminal case on the fact due to the the Criminal Code Article #125. According to the relevant inspections, Ibayev died from destruction of his brain tissue, massive blood loss and gunshot wound on his head.

The investigators revealed that the senior detachment commander of the military unit #N Rovshan Atashov had beaten soldier Ismayil Ibayev for several times by violating the rules of Military Regulation. As a result, Captain Rovshan Atashov had been accused with Criminal Code Article #N 331.3 and had been sent to pretrial detention by the order of court.
