Baku – APA. 2 590 104 sq m area was inspected and cleared from mines and unexploded ordinances (UXO) last month. Press service of the ANAMA told APA that 750 UXOs, 1 anti-personnel mine and 19 antitank mines were disarmed.
484 specialists and 118 assistants, 6 mine clearing vehicles and 36 mine dogs were involved in the operations.
200 460 225 sq m area has been cleared of mines and UXOs by ANAMA up to now. 673 452 mines and UXOs have been disarmed.
The agency is carrying out mine clearing operations in Aghdam, Aghstafa, Aghjabadi, Fuzuli, Goranboy and Kirdaq Mud Volcanoes in the territory of Absheron district, as well as in Guzdek settlement of Garadagh district of Baku.
One Mine/UXO incident was recorded in May, 2012.
