Baku – APA. “Armenians are telling a falsehood again. They are spreading such groundless reports to distract attention from killing of 9-year old Azerbaijani boy by them. Armenia tries to veil its image of killer of child, which was formed in the international public opinion”, press officer of the Defense Ministry of Azerbaijan, Colonel-Lieutenant Eldar Sabiroghlu told APA commenting on Armenian reports on killing of Armenian soldier by the Azerbaijani Army on March 17.

“We have accurate information that the disputes between the soldiers occurred in a military unit of the Armenian armed forces in Askeran in afternoon on March 17 led to shooting, which resulted in killing of two soldiers at site. A seriously wounded soldier was taken to the field hospital. He is reportedly still in coma”, said Eldar Sabiroghlu.

Regarding the violation of ceasefire in the contact line, the ministry’s press officer noted that Azerbaijan maximally tries to observe the ceasefire: “But Azerbaijan has to respond in the case of violation of the ceasefire by the Armenian armed forces”.

Armenian press reported that Armenian serviceman Agaron Ayrapetyan was killed as a result of ceasefire violation in direction of Askeran on March 17.
